Our mission at Gaining Ground Ministries is to educate, equip, and empower the local church to engage the cultural evils of our day with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church has abdicated her jurisdiction in the public sphere, and by the grace of God and the power of the Gospel, we're taking it back. "Until every enemy is made a footstool..."

"If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, 'Behold, we did not know this,' does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will He not repay man according to his work?" Proverbs 24:10-12 ESV

Our Story

 What began as a moment of personal conviction has rapidly grown into a full-time ministry. In September of 2023, I was confronted by the above words from Proverbs 24. In a moment of grief and repentance, I realized that I was living in complacency and laziness as a pastor regarding the ugly reality of the abortion holocaust that was taking place right in my own backyard. As I began to research and seek out mentors in this area, I was shocked and dismayed at just how far the church had retreated from the public arena regarding this cultural sin. We've sat by and watched as over 62,000,000 fellow image-bearers of God have been slaughtered. I was heartbroken to learn how many churches and Christians had been misled and fooled by organizations claiming to be fighting for human life, but who in reality were fighting against it. 

 This is when I decided to start engaging the church on this issue. Not knowing where to begin, I simply started driving around and cold-calling pastors to meet with them about this issue. Being in the Bible Belt of SC, it wasn’t difficult to find churches and pastors to talk to. I began to engage with pastors and church leaders, bringing to light our own failures and apathy regarding this issue, and training them and their people on how to put their prayers and beliefs to work on the ground. The truth that the Church has to remember is that this issue, like every cultural sin we face, is at its core a Gospel issue, and can only be overcome by the power of the Gospel message. Through these conversations and meetings, God began to bear us fruit that I never thought was possible. Since the start of this year, we have seen over 44 churches from upstate SC engage this wickedness with boots on the ground at our local abortion clinic, turning their words and prayers into action. Praise God!

 This ministry is growing very quickly and the workload that I am so humbled by and thankful for has started to cause some logistical difficulties. There are simply too many meetings, phone calls and emails for me to cover with my current circumstances. This is a wonderful problem to have, but it means that some adjustments are having to be made, and that I am now stepping out in faith into what the Lord has called me to do. I currently work a landscaping job to make ends meet, and I have eight wonderful children, ages 17 down to 9 months old, and a lovely wife who stays home to take care of all of us. 

 That is where Gaining Ground Ministries comes on the scene. I founded Gaining Ground with the goal of being able to fund this ministry and all of its many demands full-time. I believe that through the efforts of this ministry, by the grace of God and the prayers and financial support of faithful brothers and sisters like you, God will awaken His church in our state, and bring an end to this horror of child murder that we have let go on for far too long. We also strongly believe that while abortion is the great evil of our day, it is not the only enemy waiting to be made a footstool under the feet of Christ. When, not if, abortion is ended, Gaining Ground Ministries will continue the fight in the trenches, engaging the church and equipping her to fight whatever enemy comes against her. We endeavor to be the means God the Father uses to fulfill His promise to the Son in Psalm 110:1.
