Songs for Sighing exists to support artists, worship leaders, pastors, and liturgists by creating and curating the best in congregational song, prayer, and other worship expression, drawing from both the rich heritage of ancient Christian worship and contemporary forms.

Songs for Sighing takes its name from the hymn “Hail to the Lord’s Anointed” by James Montgomery.

He comes with comfort speedy to those who suffer wrong
To help the poor and needy and bid the weak be strong
To give them songs for sighing their darkness turn to light
Whose souls condemned and dying are precious in His sight

God comes to us in our need and gives us the words we need to express our sorrow and our joy. Songs for Sighing exists to help give voice to those things that we struggle to express in worship.
