Hopeful Arts Community/Deffenbaugh

Glad You Found Us!

Hopeful Arts Community is a ministry of folks that grew from Hopeful Arts, as Ingrid Deffenbaugh was working in music, Worship Leading, instructing, painting and designing artisan glass for private clients. It became clear, there is a bi-vocational calling behind the outlet of artisan works at Hopeful Arts, that shares the Gospel of Christ which heals, restores and brings life to communities. Ingrid believes we find hope, as we press into the Scriptures through prayer, not focusing on our problems or the tough circumstances of life, but by resting and utilizing the creative process to discover and listen more intently to the hope our Creator God is revealing through prayer and creative process. Romans 15:13 states, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." It's by the process of believing, both within the power of Christ, as well as in our artistic gifts, we find a renewed hope both for making art, as well as hope for eternity, as we discover how good our Savior truly is and express our hearts through any medium of art we choose to use.

How do we do this?

Hopeful Arts Community is built by building relationships one by one, as we invite to paint, prayer events, making art glass or attending one of our small group Bible study Scripture Song Devotionals either in person or online. We are also gearing up for the 2025 Christmas Season with some ornament making classes, bread making and Special Ed Adult Painting (Age 18+), as well as still offering meditation glass opportunities to ministers and business people seeking some moments of rest and renewal from whatever life has brought on.

Scripture Song Devotionals/Worship in the Word.

Currently, we are partnering with the Community Prayer Center (CPC - www.communityprayercenter.org) for our weekly devotional in person and online. The CPC shares our devotions as "Worship in the Word," while we share the ministry as, "Scripture Song Devotionals."

In 2020, we formerly offered these Scripture Song Devotional worship opportunities on Facebook, but when invited to join the CPC, it made sense to partner with an existing ministry which shares our live devotionals with the entire City of Katy and beyond, as well as Houston's 24/7 hour prayer website https://linktr.ee/houstonprayer247 which can be accessed worldwide.

We are also hosting a small group Bible study in the Book of Psalms through Newlands Church Katy, TX, where we speak, study, pray and sing through each Psalm. This group is specifically formed for Special Needs Adults over age 22 and their caregivers, so the various means we use to study the Word can reach individuals that may have learning disabilities.

Ministry Partners and anyone seeking to memorize Scripture using melodies as a means to connect to their heart, are encouraged to join Benjamin and Ingrid LIVE for prayer and songs on Wednesdays at 2pm CST here https://www.youtube.com/@CPC_Katy If for some reason there is no live that day due to illness or the center's closing, please visit us at www.HopefulArts.com for up to date scheduling changes.
