Raised in Togoville, in the nation of Togo, West Africa, I saw firsthand the lack of opportunity for children to receive an education. Since I came to the USA 14 years ago, I have returned every two years to visit my family. It seemed the number of children who were not receiving an education continued to grow. The vicious cycle of poverty, lack and cultish practices continued.

Some years ago, I asked some of the children why they were not in school. Every one said it was because they couldn’t afford the tuition. There is very little public education in Togo. Many children were abandoned by their parents or left with an extended family member such as a grandparent. Often they could barely feed themselves, so paying for school tuition was not an option.

In 2015, I decided to make a difference in the lives of these children. I went house to house to find out which children were the most needy, ones being raised by grandparents or without proper food or housing. I chose five girls and boys to support, paying their school tuition and providing money for food and clothing.

I secured an administrator I could trust, the village chief’s brother. This is my home village and I want to see it prosper! I also want the children and families to know Jesus as well as get an education so they can be the best that they can be. I lay my head down at night with peace and joy knowing I am impacting kids’ lives for the best.

But I’ve decided I can’t do it alone! Now, I want to offer others the joy of partnering with me to bless the children of Togoville. That is why I have joined Innovative Ministries Intl, a registered 501c3 non-profit in order to raise funds to bring even more blessing to Togoville.
