MUSIC ENSEMBLE
The purpose of the Music Ensemble is two-fold in that it seeks to provide an outlet for young musicians in our region to grow in their musicianship and poise through the study and performance of music and to provide a musical practicum for the aspiring musicians. ROBOTICS
This is a beginning course in robotics. ... The objective of this course is to introduce the student to basic programming as well as problem solving strategies. This course will involve students in the development, building and programming of a LEGO Mindstorm robot.Click "Add" for each student participating.
FAMILY SEWING
Fun sewing lessons are projects and activities that will help children 5-12 years old and up ( the age is just a beginning guideline) learn some basic skills, such as hand sewing. These kids sewing projects will start by using a needle and thread and learning how to tie a knot in the thread. Learning to sew by hand requires a lot of practice. This will also help them prepare for doing sewing projects on the sewing machine.There is a $25 per person material fee for this class.One fee for the whole family to participate. FAMILY SPANISH
Immersing the family in Spanish, through conversation, games, music, movement, and diglot weave, equipping students to gain vocabulary and growing conversational ability.One fee for the whole family to participate. Click "ADD" only once to register your family.

Art I – Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture
Ages 5-12 This class will train students in Foundational Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and the Joy of Art and Creativity. Activities will be comprised of the Monart Method, Foundational Drawing Technique in various Media, Art History, and Creativity, from a Christ-Centered Worldview.There is a $25 per person material fee for this class.Click "Add" for each student participating.

HONORS MUSIC APPRECIATION
Introduces additional skills for listening to European/Western music, classical music. Students will learn to identify components of music such as meter, texture, tempo, dynamics, orchestration and style characteristics. Students will learn biographical information regarding significant composers, as well as cultural, economic, political, religious, and social contexts in which these traditions have existed. May require attendance at live concerts. Students in this Honors course will also learn biographical information on composers, listen to and discuss additional repertoire, and write a term paper on a genre or composer.Click "Add" for each student participating.
Instructors
Lyle Blevins - Has coached award winning Robotics teams for 4 years, and enjoys encouraging youth to learn to tell a robot what to do with coding. Lyle has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Va. Tech (Go Hokies!) and has worked with youth for over 20 years. He’s an engineer who encourages kids to enjoy culture as well as analytical activities; He leads worship, enjoys swing dance, and plays music with his family.
Ana Maria Blevins – Has served as the Project Coach for award-winning Robotics teams for 4 years and enjoys helping kids to make successful presentations. She wrote a Kindle eBook called The Project, to guide Project coaches. Ana Maria graduated in Biology and Art (focus on Architecture) from Va. Tech (a Hokie as well!) She and her husband are homeschooling their 6th child, and delight in students discovering their gifts and talents that God gave them for their profession, their family, and the community.
Pamela Falkner is a homeschooling mother of three who from an early age has desired to teach in a non-traditional classroom. She holds a Certificate in Outreach issued by England Master’s Commission, formerly run by Full Life Church in Maltby, Rotherham, England, and a B.S. in Oceanography with an endorsement in science education from the University of Washington. She turns her rich experience in teaching children to the area of sewing by hand for young children, as a way to develop fine motor skills, creativity, and problem solving skills.
